8th Annual Public Service Awards Dinner

CNY RISE Center invites the community to its 8th Annual Public Service Awards Dinner on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., an evening dedicated to recognizing the exceptional service of local law enforcement officers and first responders. Held in cooperation with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and the Syracuse Police Department, this free event will highlight the commitment and sacrifice of those who work to keep our communities safe.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Tobias Shelley, Sheriff of Onondaga County, who will speak on the timely and important topic of “Immigration Enforcement.” Sheriff Shelley will share insights into current enforcement practices, community engagement, and the challenges and responsibilities facing law enforcement in an increasingly diverse society.

Awards will be presented to distinguished members of law enforcement for their service, dedication, and impact on the greater Syracuse area. The evening will also feature remarks from community leaders and public safety officials who will share stories of leadership and public trust.

Guests will enjoy a selection of homemade Turkish cuisine, prepared by volunteers from the CNY RISE Center. In keeping with tradition, attendees may also be treated to thoughtful surprises as a token of appreciation for their participation.

Admission is free, but RSVP is required by May 16 via email at cnyrise@gmail.com. All are welcome to join this meaningful evening of recognition, conversation, and community connection.
