20th Annual Friendship Dinner: Celebrate Aging in CNY
The CNY RISE Center, in collaboration with InterFaith Works of Central New York, will host the 20th Annual Friendship Dinner on Wednesday, November 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 275 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse.
This year’s theme, “Celebrate Aging in CNY,” focuses on honoring the experiences, wisdom, and continued contributions of older adults in the Central New York community. The program aims to foster greater understanding of the importance of aging with dignity, intergenerational support, and inclusive community engagement.
The evening will feature Dr. Lori Klivak, Director of the Center for Healthy Aging at InterFaith Works, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Klivak will discuss local efforts to promote health, connection, and resilience among the region’s aging population.
The Friendship Dinner, now in its 20th year, has become a hallmark event celebrating diversity, dialogue, and service in Central New York. Each year, it brings together community leaders, faith representatives, educators, and residents to strengthen mutual respect and cooperation.
In addition to the keynote address, attendees will enjoy an authentic Turkish meal and a community service award ceremony recognizing individuals who have made meaningful contributions to community well-being.
The event is free and open to the public, with donations welcomed to support future community programs.
